The Jones Center for Families is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization led by a community board. Our mission is
"to serve families, strengthen community and glorify
God." Our one rule is simple: All are
welcome as long as you behave as ladies and gentleman.
A legacy of service and giving that continues touching
our lives
Quality of service. Quality of life. The Jones name is
synonymous with both. Sharing the success of the ones
of the country's largest and most successful transportation
companies in recent history, the legacy of Bernice and
Harvey Jones' generous giving and
commitment to the northwest Arkansas community continues
touching lives today.
Built from the original Jones Truck lines terminal
facility after closing, Bernice Jones, vision for a
special place for learning, play, and fellowship was
born as The Jones Center for Families. More that just
the bricks and steel that enclose its 220,000 square
feet of space, the Jones Center, a no charge facility,
is a destination for life enrichment, and a place where
Bernice Jones proclaimed "all are welcome."

A sense of community is nurtured here
The needs of the community are physical, social, intellectual,
spiritual, and
universally felt. People from all walks of life and
social and economic backgrounds find, in the Jones Center,
a haven. The recreational, educational, and entertainment
facilities and programs under its one roof are unmatched.
They include a lap and leisure pool, the Joel Carver
Ice Arena (both are popular destinations for birthday
parties), a gym and indoor track, the Tyson Family Fitness
Center and a community park. Opportunities abound for
children through Teen LIFE, Kids LIFE, Kids Plus, a
child care service offered at no cost. Family LIFE outreach
offers regional events such as Jammin' at the Jones
Center outdoor concert series and Fall Family Festival.
Conference and meeting facilities complete the offerings
envisioned by Bernice Jones for nurturing a better spirit
of community.

Education reaches beyond classrooms, diplomas, and
degres
Learning is a lifelong endeavor, extending beyond the
walls of traditional schools and into every single heart
and mind. The Jones Center provides enriching educational
opportunities for adults and children, including access
to technology vital in today's
world and taken for granted by many, like email and
use of the Internet. The Jones Center has computers
for public use, along with classes on computer literacy
and the use of software. Our Community Enrichment Opportunities
(CEO) program offers courses in subjects like Financial
Managment, Spanish, ESL and Tae Kwon Do. The Harvey
Jones Health Education Building offers courses in Safe
Sitter, CPR for families, Childbirth Preparation and
Boot Camp for New Dads. |

A commitment to a community's physical well being
The Jones Center's approach to improving quality of
life embraces the whole
person, mind, spirit and body, and serves the latter
with some of the most impressive sports and recreation
facilities to be found in our region. The Joel Carver
Ice Arena is the only indoor ice skating facility in
northwest Arkansas, hosting aspiring olympic figure
skaters, fueling the dreams of hockey hopefuls, and
giving grownups a place to play like kids again. An
Olympic-size lap pool and family leisure pool draw thousands
of visitors for everything from serious swim competitions
to water aerobics classes, and the fully equipped gymnasium
is one of the best places in town for a pickup game.
This is our commitment to the community's physical well
being. |

A place to encourage and expand Leadership
The
Jones Center's approach to serving the multi-faceted
needs of the community results in renewal, not just
for individuals, but for organizations. The Charles
N. McKinney LIFE Adventure Center (LAC) provides a wide
range of experiential opportunities, prompting creative
thinking, team building, and the development of other
critical skills for schools and companies. Each session
is customized by our certified staff to meet your desired
outcomes and objectives. The goal is to provide you
with a high quality program, challenging you as an individual
and as a team, to stretch yourselves to positive life
changing experiences.

excellence in community service. We hope you'll consider
being a part of it through your generosity.
